Tips for Shooting Portraits on a White Background
Here are some tips to consider when shooting portrait photography on a white background:
Use a medium to low aperture to create a shallow depth of field and blur out the background achieving sepertation that sells the infinate walll look.
Try different poses and angles to capture your subject's personality and unique features. For this shoot we had subjects on couches, stools, love seats and standing.
Encourage your subject to wear clothing that contrasts with the white background to make them stand out even more. Brittney’s choise of Black and white with a pop of color brings a fun professional flair to the end result.
Experiment with different lighting setups to create different moods and effects. The lighting here - diussed below - per the clients request needed to be professional, clean but a little edgy. After a few itterations we went with a softer look constructed with varioius Aputure fixtures.
